Public Hearing Notice: Application and project information for the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) Grant

The City of Marathon Parks and Recreation Department will hold a public meeting on the items below on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

This meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Marathon Community Park, Main Pavilion, located at 200 Ocean, 36th St, Marathon, FL 33050

A PUBLIC MEETING REGARDING THE

The Florida Land and Recreation Grants staff administers grants to local governments through the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP).

This competitive, reimbursement grant program provides financial assistance for acquisition or development of land for public outdoor recreation. Eligible participants include all county governments, municipalities in Florida and other legally constituted local governmental entities with the responsibility for providing outdoor recreational sites and facilities for the general public.

The projects to be discussed are demolition and installation of new tennis courts, and demolition and installation of new basketball courts at Marathon Community Park.

Interested parties may appear at the public meeting(s) and be heard with respect to the proposed items. Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Council with respect to any matter considered at such hearing or meeting, one will need a record of the proceedings and for such purpose that person may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made; such record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting.  Please note that more than one Marathon City Council/Board/Committee member may participate in the meeting.
