FKEC Ongoing Work

Beginning on Monday, April 5, 2021 Florida Keys Electric Cooperative (FKEC) will begin mowing and side-trimming the vegetation along the existing south side of the Curry Hammock/Crawl Key bike path, from the western end of the path heading eastward.

This trimming and mowing work is necessary to facilitate access by large bucket trucks that are required to continue the transmission insulator change-out project being performed by our contractor Pike Electric.

Due to the nature of the trimming and construction work, there will be intermittent closures of the bike path throughout April and May, 2021.  No impact to traffic on US1 is anticipated.  Closure dates and times may vary due to weather or circumstances beyond our control.
